Pottery apron, Split-leg apron

Linen potters apron, or split-leg apron.

When I purchased a throwing wheel, I soon learned how practical a pottery apron is. Especially being new at throwing clay, within a short period of time clay was everywhere, and not only on the floor.

What I find important in aprons in general, is that they don't have a pulling, tickling strap around the neck. So I made the apron with crossed straps on the back.
It is simply put on over the head and falls into place.

The apron has one pocket on the upper front and a big pocket on the leg.

The colours of linen I have to choose from are

In general the apron is a one size fits most.
The measurements of the apron are
- circumference of hips 92 cm / 36"
- length from shoulder to hem is around 100 cm / 39.5"
I wear it in the photos and I measure 5'6" / 1.69 m, bust 33" / 83 cm, waist 27.5" / 70 cm, hips 36" / 92 cm.

About linen

* For my items I use 100% European linen
* Flax need little to non pest control and not much water to grow, which makes linen more eco-friendly compared to other fabrics
* Linen has cooling as well as heating qualities because linen is insulating.
* Linen absorbs 35% of humidity and dries fast
* Linen is relatively easy to take care of, since it resists dirt and stains
* The linen is pre-washed and therefore doesn't shrink anymore
* Linen wrinkles easily, nevertheless, this tendency is often considered part of linen's particular "charm"

Care instructions

* Linen washes best at a temperature up to 30°C in washing machines with low spinning option
* Do not tumble dry but hang in the shade to dry
* To soften linen, you can exceptionally dry your garment in the dryer on low spinning, but the risk is that it then will shrink.

Due to the natural characteristics of linen and the dyeing process, colors may vary slightly from roll to roll.
